Georgia Tech is a large public research and technology university in Atlanta, Georgia. The engineering programs in Biomedical and Industrial engineering are considered the top in the nation. Georgia is known for its rigorous academics, engaging research opportunities, and program success. The University of Georgia is Georgia Tech’s biggest rival in sports, and their mascot is Buzz the yellow jacket.

Tech has produced 14 astronauts. John Young (B.S. AE ’52) had the longest career of any astronaut, becoming the first person to make six space flights over the course of 42 years of active NASA service.
