Cornell University is a private institution located in Ithaca, New York with approximately 15,000 undergraduate students. It is an Ivy League university that was founded in 1865. Cornell is unique as although it is technically a private institution, it does receive some funding from New York state similar to a public institution. Fun fact about Cornell: Ithaca, NY has more restaurants per capita than NYC!

Cornell is the federal land-grant institution of New York State, a privately endowed university, a member of the Ivy League/Ancient Eight, and a partner of the State University of New York.
