American University is a medium-sized private research university with eight schools and colleges. The main campus is located in the northwest neighborhood of Washington, D.C., and there is also an east campus which together helps educate nearly 15,000 students-with over 7,000 of those as undergraduates. American University emphasizes exploration and involvement with 89% of undergraduates having an internship within their four years of college.
