Are you stressing about college visits? The college admissions journey can be stressful BUT the college visits should and can be fun. This is a unique opportunity for parents to learn more about their son or daughter and bond with them as they search for their next academic adventure.
How does the race car photo relate to this post? As a parent of a junior in high school, I am on the road exploring college campuses with my youngest son. It was our 1st college trip together and he was thrilled when I surprised him with a side trip to a local race car museum. It was an opportunity for us to connect on his level as he is an avid car enthusiast and I know absolutely nothing about cars (but I do now)! He enjoyed being the subject matter expert as he took the time to explain to me all the various aspects of a race car. Our “college visit” was more than touring a college campus with an official tour by Admissions. We learned something about each other that we did not know when we set off on our adventure.

Trust us, you and your high school student can and should have fun especially when you have the inside scoops from current students.
